Colin Richardson Contractors was established in 1984 and has continued to thrive and grow in the construction industry ever since.  We are based in the Usk Valley, South Wales and operate throughout Wales and nationwide.  With over 25 years of experience, we take full advantage of any opportunity to apply our expertise and specialist knowledge and are able to offer a service of the finest calibre.

We employ a direct workforce of local employees who are all CSCS and CPCS  qualified and hold various licences /qualifications such as abrasive wheel, manual handling and first aid, to name but a few.  Our supervisors hold the 5 day CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.  We own and operate a comprehensive and modern fleet of plant and machinery which includes a range of lorries available for hire for muck away and also grab lorries.  We hold a waste carrier’s licence and operate a fully licensed recycling depot for inert waste materials.

At present, we are the only private company in Wales to own a Fumo Multicar – a specialist vehicle with a versatile range of functions such as verge clearance, hedge cutting, snow clearance and watering of plants and hanging baskets.  We also own and operate a vacuum excavator.  Vacuum excavations are now becoming essential for digging around underground services, around trees and tree roots and installation of root barriers.  Please enquire for more information.

We are accredited members of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and Constructionline.

We are also qualified installers of Addagrip Resin Surfacing and can offer a competitive quote to suit your specification.

We are suppliers of turf, BS Standard topsoil, subsoil, bark mulch and compost (available loose or in bulk bags).

We are committed to keeping our impact on the environment to an absolute minimum.  We have devised our own in-house environmental management system, which is aimed at putting controls in place to ensure we recognise the sensitivity of our environment.  Recently, we have been involved in several local projects which have allowed us to participate in creating an improved environment such as the Regeneration of Riverside Park in Newport, Access Improvements at Blaen Bran Community Woodland, Cwmbran and also Environmental Improvements at Cwmcarn Forest Drive Visitor’s Centre.
